Form 4B Backlight unit
Form 4B's custom lens array is made of plano-convex lenses for highly collimated and uniform light even at high power.

Release Texture
A proprietary, microtextured optical film provides airflow between the resin tank and the Light Processing Unit.
This film is built into the Light Processing Unit and sits at the top of it. This significantly reduces peel forces so you can print at blazing fast speeds without sacrificing surface finish, fine features, accuracy, or reliability.

Stackable Resin Tanks
Every resin tank includes a reusable lid and stackable design, making it easy to stack tanks and store resin outside of the machine. With a separate tank for each individual resin color or type, switching materials is as easy as sliding in a new tank.
The Form 4B Resin Tank holds liquid resin inside the printer and provides a substrate for the liquid resin to cure against, using a dual-layer flexible film stack. It significantly reduces peel forces so you can print at blazing fast speeds without sacrificing surface finish, fine features, accuracy, or reliability.

Automatic Resin Handling
Integrated system that dispenses resin quickly, accurately, and with minimal waste, while making it easy to switch materials. Print without having to worry about your printer running out of resin and switch materials in 1 minute. Form 4B is still one of the only SLA printers on the market to offer this feature.
New resin cartridges still contain 1 L of resin, but 63% less plastic and 30% a smaller footprint for less plastic waste and shelf space.

Build Volume
The Formlabs Form 4B 3D printer has a build volume of 20.0 × 12.5 × 21.0 cm* and a capacity of 5.25 liters.
This is 30% larger than the Formlabs Form 3's build volume.
*If you are printing a job that is taller than 19.0 cm on Form 4/B, taller than 30.5 cm on Form 4L/4BL, or taller than 18.5 cm on Form 3/B/+, you have to remove the resin tank while removing your print. PreForm will warn users when their job is above these limits.
